This translates to lost clients and lost revenue. Here at Zillow Rentals, we conducted a survey to find out exactly how long renters expect to wait before they get their inquiries answered. So how many hours is ?a few hours,? and should you wait 24 hours because that?s what renters expect? The best policy to go by, no matter what, is sooner is better than later. Just because you can wait as long as you want to answer your leads doesn?t mean you should.
If your real estate business is successful, you should be doing these three things:
- Drive traffic to your site via social media, blog content, listing syndication, advertisements, etc.
- Have an engaging, ?sticky? website that keeps visitors? attention so they?ll fill out a CTA and request more information.
- Respond to these leads quickly so potential clients don?t slip through your fingers.
We?ve all heard the saying about the early bird getting the worm, and the same applies when it comes to lead response time and closing deals. If you think about it, the renter on the other end of the conversation is much more likely to be interested and responsive if you reply to their request within the hour ? bonus points if it?s within 15 minutes and they?re still on the computer. The rental market works quickly. If you wait 3 days or a week to get back to a lead, the renter is less likely to remember you once you reach out, or even worse, they?ve already signed a lease for another apartment.
