The Still Sunset Desktop [Featured Desktop]

The Still Sunset Desktop When I wrote our guide to using GeekTool to build a personalized Mac desktop, I knew we would see a number of new GeekTool-modified desktops in the Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Pool on Flickr. User tokyo102 submitted this gorgeous and serene desktop made with GeekTool to the pool, and it walks the line between being elegant and attractive but sparse enough that you can still use the space to actually get work done.

If you like the look of tokyo102's desktop and want the same effect, here's all you'll need:

Also worth noting is that tokyo102 has the dock hidden to free up some additional space to work, or just to admire the beautiful setting in the wallpaper. If you're a Windows or Linux user, you should be able to get the same effect with Rainmeter or Conky (respectively) to recreate the scene in your OS of choice. Also, don't forget to check out our guide to creating a desktop HUD with Rainmeter.

Do you have a great, beautifully productive desktop of your own that you'd like to share? Go ahead and post it to the Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Flickr Group with a description of how you made it and it may be the next featured desktop.
